BEFORE TREATMENT
The stress cracks to the front of the porcelain box, just below the keyhole, were cleaned as well as possible with ethanol and a cotton tipped applicator. The stress cracks were secured with Epotek 301 and allowed to cure.
The missing chips and damaged area below the keyhole were filled with Epotek 301 bulked with fumed silica and tinted to match the appropriate background colour of each fill with dry pigments. Once cured the fills were in painted to match the surrounding colour and scene with Primal WS-24 and dry pigments. Three clear coats of Primal WS-24 were applied on top allowing to dry between layers. Once the top layer had fully dried the compensated areas were buffed to the appropriate finish with polishing cloths.
